Can employees work-from-hom and/or remote in Singapore?

In Singapore, the adoption of work-from-home arrangements has been significantly accelerated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The government has introduced guidelines to support remote work, emphasizing the need for flexible work arrangements to ensure business continuity while safeguarding employee health.

Employers are encouraged to implement telecommuting where possible, and many have adopted long-term remote working policies to offer greater work-life balance.

Additionally, employers may provide allowances for work from home to cover expenses such as internet connectivity and utilities. These allowances are at the discretion of the employer and are not mandated by law. However, the government encourages supportive practices for remote work.
