Turkey observes 16 public holidays throughout the year, offering employees a chance to rest and celebrate significant national events:

  • January 1 – New Year’s Day
  • March 19 - March 22 – Ramadan Feast Holiday
  • April 23 - National Sovereignty & Children’s Day
  • May 1 – Labor Day
  • May 19 – Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day
  • May 26- May 30 – Sacrifice Feast Holiday
  • July 15 – Democracy and National Unity Day
  • August 30 – Victory Day
  • October 28 to October 29 – Republic Day

Notes:
  • If a public holiday falls on a weekend, no additional day off is given by default. However, with employer approval, an additional day off may be granted.
  • Religious holidays are based on the lunar (Hijri) calendar and may shift slightly depending on moon-sighting.
  • Half-day closures typically apply to the afternoon of Muslim feast eves and Republic Day Eve.
